Birth Of The Endless Summer Screening Coming To SHACC (Sold out!)
After a successful run at the film festivals, a screening of the “Birth Of The Endless Summer” is coming to SHACC on February 5.
Before there was Bruce Brown’s seminal film “The Endless Summer,” there was SHACC founder Dick Metz wandering the world in search of surf and adventure. Hitting the road throughout the late 1950s, it was his trip through South Africa and a chance meeting with John Whitmore that would set the stage for Brown and the Endless Summer crew several short years later.
And to make the show extra special, if you’ve ever wondered how it all went down, the current exhibit at SHACC has the answers. Showcasing the travels and adventures of Metz, from his passport to his huarache sandals, it offers some interesting insight into the legends.
