Before there was Bruce Brown’s seminal film “The Endless Summer,” there was SHACC founder Dick Metz wandering the world in search of surf and adventure. Hitting the road throughout the late 1950s, it was his trip through South Africa and a chance meeting with John Whitmore that would set the stage for Brown and the Endless Summer crew several short years later.

This exhibit showcased the travels and adventures of Metz, from his passport to his huarache sandals.
